One thing players should look at closely when considering an international move: the salary is only one part of the offer.

Housing, transportation, flights, bonuses, taxes, insurance, contract length, playing opportunity and the quality of the environment can materially change the value of a deal.

The women's soccer winter transfer window starts earlier than a lot of people realize.

In the NWSL, as an example, clubs are already beginning to map out needs for 2027 while simultaneously fighting for playoff spots in their current seasons.

The conversations are usually specific. Clubs aren't simply looking for “a good forward” or “a good midfielder.” They may be looking for a mobile 9 who can stretch the back line, a left-footed center back, an experienced GK comfortable with the ball, or a midfielder who fits a particular system.

For players approaching free agency or finishing college, understanding where they fit in that market is key. Timing matters as well of course.

One of the biggest parts of our job as agents is maintaining relationships with clubs and ensuring our players are top of mind when roster decisions are being made.
