One of the biggest misconceptions in recruiting is that every “OFFERED” graphic on social media means the same thing.
It doesn’t.
There are different types of offers:
🏈 Committable offers ➡️ they want you NOW. There may already be real, life-changing money attached.
🏈 Evaluation offers ➡️ they like you, but still need to see more. More film, development, camp performance, senior season, etc. It could BECOME committable.
🏈 Potential offers ➡️ sometimes schools offer young because they’re betting on what an athlete can become. That relationship still has to be developed and evaluated over time.
And THIS is where having the right people around you matters.
When an offer comes in, your agency’s job shouldn’t just be to repost the graphic and celebrate it.
We should be communicating behind the scenes.
Is it committable TODAY?
Where does the athlete sit on their board?
What does the financial opportunity realistically look like?
Does the staff genuinely believe in the athlete or are they keeping options open to others?
🗣️Families deserve to know the difference.
Collecting offers looks great on social media…Knowing which programs are actually ready to invest in YOU is what changes lives. 💯
