For some reason, society have built this retarded idea that
consistent ritualism = close to god
When that’s simply not true.
You can pray, stay away from premarital sex and not drink alcohol all you like,
But if your intent is poor and there’s no love within yourself or you actions, they’re meaningless.
As humans, we can’t seem whether someone is a “good muslim/christian” or “bad muslim/christian” because we don’t know what is within their soul.
Someone could drink, smoke and fuck prostitutes all day but that doesn’t mean their prayer is worth any less than yours.
That doesn’t make them worth any less than you.
That doesn’t make them a BAD person.
Sometimes, those people are the kindest.
A man who works out in the gym but doesn’t pray, could easily be more religious than a man who prays 5 times per day.
The intent of the man in the gym is to keep his body (a recognised gift from god) in optimal form, but the man who’s praying, only prays so he doesn’t go to hell, so he just says what he needs to say to get it done with.
Ritualism isn’t religion.
And it doesn’t make you a good person.
my father always told me: “if you want to go for a run, go for a run, don’t look for company. sooner or later, on your fifth run or your twentieth, like-minded people will find you themselves.” and only recently have i realized that this principle works everywhere.
