@WillSussmanPhD@MIT@kvatinsky Imagine a group of people taking something off of another group. If only we had some analogies to help us relate to your issue.
@iamharaldur I saw Oasis live in 1997. Worst gig I've been to, sadly. Certain bandmate was being an absolute arse. Glad to hear others have had a better time of it.
@nitton76@danielgoyal Socialism isn't a dirty word to all the people who literally enjoy, and benefit, from socialism. The UK 'socialist' health system outperforms the US. The UK privatised rail system underperforms pretty much anywhere....on cost (ticket price + subsidies paid by tax) and quality.
@blagden_david ...actually generated by policy. As the OPs main point appears, there are many options for HE, but pretending its a market, and then tieing it's hands, is not one of the viable ones.
I could go on, but im rocking in the corner...
@blagden_david ... to strategically navigate in a context of perpetually closing doors and tightening belts. This has played out in the systemic decline of salaries for very highly skilled workers, and the constriction of quality of services that Universities can provide. Its a death spiral....
I am sick to death or the quality of @sainsburys fresh fruit and veg. Strawberries, bought yesterday, opened today, best before tomorrow. Yet not just a bit soft, full on rotten. Finding this in every shop I do at the moment. So much waste!!
