Happy 14th birthday to Berani, our Malayan tiger!

To mark his special day, his keepers prepared birthday enrichment—including a cake made by Keeper Adela in our Animal Nutrition department. This tiger-sized treat featured frozen blood, goat’s milk, and frozen meat.

Then it was eventually off to @houstonzoo, which I would rank at a modest 11 out of 10 - ABSOLUTELY superb! I was at Madrid Zoo last year which was phenomenal & this was every bit on the same level. A wonderful environment for a huge variety of wildlife. Genuinely breathtaking.

Yesterday we celebrated 19 incredible years with our favorite large lizard! His keepers describe Boga as curious and LOVES attention. You can find him next to our black bear habitat at your next Zoo visit!

Our orangutan Takai had a scream-ing good birthday this week! 🦧

For his 20th birthday, his keepers threw him a Monsters, Inc .-themed celebration with fun enrichment and lots of tasty snacks!
