It was a special day for two of our pupils who achieved their pen licence. They have continued to persevere each week and shown such determination in their efforts. Today they were given a special fountain pen to write with to mark their success. ✒️🖋️#handwriting #perseverance

Year 3 have been learning about Georges Seurat who was a French painter known for the technique of pointillism. They are looking forward to exploring this technique in their own paintings. 🎨🖌️👩‍🎨 #artists

School is more than just the academic. Today our Year 5 had a visit from East Midland Ambulance Service. They learned some really important lessons in first aid and how they might help themselves and others in an emergency🚑. #lifeskills #careerseducation #safeguardingcurriculum

Our Nurture Nest was alive with science. Children made parachutes and tested them from the stairs. They explored with moon sand and created astronauts and space cars. Finally, the room turned into space with a projector and glow in the dark stars. #sensorycurriculum #belonging

We continue to consider how to enable our children to learn from play in their break times. Play helps children to develop skills in collaborating, communicating and problem solving. 🧱⚽️🏏#👭👬#theimportanceofplay

Today there was a science exhibition in our hall. All our children in school had the opportunity to visit the exhibition and see all the scientific work that happened across the school last week. We love to find ways to inspire each other with our thinking! #scienceweek

Year 1 went on a school trip to Nottingham Arboretum to continue their learning about the seasons, the weather and our environment around us. This linked fantastically to their science week project in which they created a bug hotel. ☀️🍁🌼❄️#outdoorlearning

We try to make sure everything we facilitate is to the highest quality. Our parents evenings are a special time as our older children help create a fabulous event as they showcase parts of our school with engaging stalls and run the appointments. #partnership #leadership

We understand that we are just part of a child’s journey through their education and our job is to help them be ready for their next chapter. On Friday, our year 5 had a taste of a secondary school computer science lesson. The children were naturals and so well behaved.#proud

Here is the length our staff will go to to make learning fun for the children. The children have been reading ‘A Tiger who Came to Tea’. They baked cakes, made special tiger plates and then what a surprise a real life tiger joined them! 🐅🐅🐯#makelearningfun
