Congratulations to Kakamega High School and St. Joseph’s Girls Kitale for being crowned the 2026 Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association National Champions in the boys’ and girls’ categories.

As you head to Tanzania for the East Africa Secondary School Games, we wish you success. To all the teams that competed, you reminded us why school sports matter. This is where dreams begin, where talent is spotted, and where the future of Kenyan sports is built.

These championships continue to prove their value as a vital platform for young athletes to showcase their talent and for scouts to identify the next generation of stars.

Special appreciation to KSSSA for organising and delivering an outstanding competition. As a federation, we will keep on working together to build a clear pathway for these young stars to continue developing their careers through our Junior National Teams and Youth Leagues.

Together with the FKF Marketing team, we held a strategic engagement with the senior leadership of Nation Media Group led by the Group Managing Director and CEO Geoffrey Odundo, the Chief Corporate Affairs, Marketing, and Partnerships Officer Monicah Ndung'u and James Sogoti, the General Manager Commercial at Nation Media Group.

The meeting explored a prospective partnership focused on increasing the visibility and commercial viability of FKF leagues and competitions.

When football stories are told well, they do more than fill stadiums, they connect supporters to players and clubs, help teams build stronger brands, attract sponsors and create better matchday experiences. As a federation, we will continue to prioritize the development of a sustainable football ecosystem that is beneficial to all stakeholders.

As the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association National Games take place at the M-Pesa foundation in Thika, FKF’s newly trained scouts under the FIFA Talent Development Scheme are actively assessing and identifying the best talents.

Their evaluations feed directly into FKF’s central scouting database, supporting the development of Kenya’s U15 and U17 national teams.

The framework in place makes this process critical to broadening the talent pool and facilitating the seamless progression of players from junior levels to the senior national teams.

The finals of the Captain Irene Ndanu Soccer Summit are taking place today at the Nyayo National Stadium.

The tournament brought together 480 teams in the boys’ and girls’ categories, engaging over 9,000 players from all 40 wards of Machakos County.

This event reflects the continued growth of grassroots football and provides a platform and a pathway for young players to compete and showcase their talent.

Today I visited the Harambee Starlets in camp as they prepare for their final WAFCON group fixture.

I conveyed a message of support and emphasized the honor and responsibility of representing the nation on this stage.

I encouraged the team to remain focused and deliver their best in the upcoming match against Algeria.

Good and professional officiating is key to the growth of football. Ensuring referee welfare enables impartial, assured, and consistent decision-making on the field. In line with this, the Federation has cleared all arrears owed to referees from the previous season and from our first season in office.

Referees play a key role in developing the game. As a Federation, we remain committed to safeguarding their welfare and their profession. We are also investing more in capacity building to support the referees in advancing their careers.

Our goal is to develop Kenyan officials who are respected at home and trusted to represent the country with distinction in international assignments.
