Day 3 of the #IAJU2025 Assembly took us to the heart of the major challenges facing Jesuit higher education today.
In the morning, Plenary 4 addressed the opportunities and tensions that artificial intelligence brings to our universities. We reflected on its ethical use in teaching, learning, and administration—without losing sight of what makes us profoundly human.
Later, the Regional Conferences (Africa, Asia-Pacific and Europe) shared a meaningful dialogue with Father General, deepening our understanding of how each region lives out the shared mission within its particular context.
In the afternoon, Plenary 5 reminded us that universities are not isolated from human suffering. We explored the realities of migration and concrete accompaniment practices in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Europe.
Later in the day, parallel sessions brought Assembly participants together around transformative experiences—from new paradigms in business schools to network-based Ignatian formation programs, global engineering initiatives, global citizenship and welcoming displaced persons.
We closed with a Eucharist presided over by Fr. Hermann Rodríguez, S.J., Provincial of Colombia.
Today reminded us that our universities are called to be spaces of collaboration and action in response to the most urgent challenges of our time.
