It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the passing of Local 849 member Allan Collette. Allan was a Scenic Department member and an incredibly talented artist. We extend condolences to Allan's friends, family, and industry kin for this great loss.

Our office breaks for the holidays Dec 20-Jan 4, but we will return renewed in 2026. This year we crewed 19 productions, grew our membership to 562, & celebrated 35 years of L849. Thank you all for your hard work & unmatched talent. Warmest wishes to everyone & a happy new year!

Last weekend was our 3rd year participating in @OperationWarm. We joined our @IATSECANADA kin @IATSELocal667, L680 & ADC659 to give out 300 hats, mittens, & coats to children & families in need. Operation Warm is more than a coat, providing warmth, confidence, & hope to kids.

Local 849 BA Shelley Bibby & Key Scenic Artist Kevin Lewis attended MPA-Canada's "Behind-the-Scenes" event on Parliament Hill on Mon.

Kevin showed his talent & skill with a demonstration of how scenic artists create various faux stonework for film productions.

Congrats to NSFL's new exec & to President Melissa Marsman, who was elected at this year's convention in Halifax! President Marsman is the first woman of colour to be elected president in the NSFL's 53-year history.
