Thank you to our incredible @IBEW team, especially @IBEW2032 for your incredible efforts! From subzero conditions of Northern New York to supporting restoration efforts in the peak heat and humidity of hurricane season , this team is the best!
During winter, water released through Long Sault Dam can result in rapidly changing river flows & potentially unsafe conditions along the South Channel of the river. When warnings are issued, the public should be alert to rapidly changing ice conditions & should stay off the ice.
TIPS:
⚠ Keep back a minimum of 800 ft. from the Long Sault Dam spillway and Robert Moses Power Dam, both on the upstream and downstream side
⚠ Use caution on and near the river
⚠ Be aware of changing river conditions and strong currents
NYPA would like to remind users of the St. Lawrence River to be aware of potential changes in river conditions during the winter season and to heed the warnings.

I was raised by a union family. @NYSComptroller Tom DiNapoli says it best, a backbone for American success is union jobs. I'm proud of my union background and I will always stand up for working people. #NY22
I attended a legislative breakfast hosted by the @NYSAFLCIO focusing on their agenda with keynote speaker @staceyabrams. She leads with a focus and message of collaboration, competition & accountability. We must support the people who keep our systems running the lights on.
.@UAW workers deserve to share in the big three automakers profits!
In the last 4 years: CEO pay is up 40%. Autoworker wages? Up just 6%.
Workers deserve a COLA, fair pay, an end to tiers, and a just transition to EVs. Time to get it done!

We spent some time at the Fair this week, Where Bea was part of a DOL promotion of clean energy jobs in NYS. The DOL exhibit has a virtual reality booth where you can put on VR glasses and see what it’s like to travel through BG as Bea and do the work of an IBEW chief electrician
We feel strongly that Justin Driscoll is the best person to lead NYPA at this important time. We look forward to continuing to work closely with Justin on New York’s clean energy priorities.”
We know that NYPA is led by a person of integrity and vision, and that he appreciates the critical role that labor plays in everything that the Power Authority does.
“As the unions that work daily at the New York Power Authority, we are in the best position to observe firsthand and appreciate Justin Driscoll’s commitment to labor and its role in achieving the state's ambitious clean energy goals.
50 years ago today, our Blenheim-Gilboa Pumped Storage Power Project produced first power.
Today, our Blenheim-Gilboa Power Project uses #hydropower technology and two large reservoirs at different altitudes to generate up to 1,160,000 kilowatts of electricity.
The members of the IBEW strongly encourage the NYS Senate to vote in favor of Gov. Hochul’s nomination to lead NYPA. Justin Driscoll has proven he has the integrity and competency to lead us in our efforts to provide reliable and affordable energy to all New Yorkers.
