Today is the final day to apply for the Loop Art Critique artist open call, featuring curator and researcher Doreen Ríos.

Over six weeks, artists will take part in live critiques, receive mentorship, and develop new work inside the Loop Metaverse using XR Studio software (courtesy of https://t.co/eGcG4eIBnj). The residency will culminate in a collectively curated exhibition.

Join us tomorrow, Saturday, February 21, at 5 PM at ICA Miami for a special Culture Club conversation with artist Mark Armijo McKnight, one of today’s leading voices in contemporary photography. The evening will include a screening of his work on view at the museum. The featured piece, now a major highlight of our collection, was made possible with the support of Culture Club members.

Mark Armijo McKnight (b. 1984, Los Angeles) is best known for his black-and-white images of nude bodies and landscapes in the American West. He shoots primarily on a 4x5 view camera and regularly includes members of his queer community, people with bodies that have traditionally been excluded from art history.

We’re excited to announce our second collaboration with the @icamiami Art + Research Program, featuring guest curator and researcher Doreen Rios. Her work engages critically with contemporary digital culture, examining how technological infrastructures shape authorship, value, circulation, and power within the art ecosystem. Through curatorial practice, research, and writing, Ríos investigates the cultural implications of emerging technologies and their impact on artistic production.

ICA Miami's Saturday Art Prep classes are the perfect way to provide young artists with a focused, hands-on start to the year. Designed for ages 8–10 and 11–14, the six-week classes strengthen drawing and painting skills while exploring traditional and contemporary art-making methods, guided by the museum's exhibitions and serving as a source of creative inspiration.

Students develop techniques including perspective, shading, and composition, while building the visual literacy and portfolios needed for advanced programs, including ICA Miami’s Summer Portfolio Prep and competitive art school applications.
