8:37 PM - 40 Adults and 15 children displaced from 20 units inside the Diplomat Apartments at 2425 Albany St. Callers to 911 reported a kitchen fire in apartment B25 on the third floor and firefighters found heavy black smoke on arrival. An aggressive search for the seat of the
fire ensued while crews simultaneously worked to evacuate the structure. Heavy fire in the attic. IFD command orders a second alarm at 8:57 PM. The building was fully evacuated in 15 minutes and the fire was brought under control in 30 minutes. Multiple animals rescued by IFD
the family will work with a board up company for assistance. IFD Victims Assistance is working with Red Cross for shelter. 2 adults and 3 kids displaced.
6:31 PM - Fortunately no injuries after a driver accidentally drove through his home while trying to unload some firewood in his back yard at 3629 Ribbon Drive. The man had a trunk full of firewood which he was looking to remove from the car directly onto the wood pile. The man
garden/flower bed and straight into the rear of the house. The structure sustained significant damage. IFD Collapse Rescue was called to assess the structural integrity at the point of impact. Utilizing existing components, they were able to shore up the load bearing wall and
the side of the home and attempted to position the rear of the car next to the wood pile. When he attempted to back the vehicle up toward the pile - he did not realize that the car was in drive - not reverse. He gunned the gas pedal, drove over the family garden/flower bed
5:28 PM - Originally dispatched as an alarm, IFD Engine 42 arrived at 333 S Franklin Rd to find light smoke showing, active water flow and heavy black smoke on the interior. The 368,000 Square foot building is home to several companies who lease space, one of which is a

00:03 AM - IFD Fire Investigators on scene investigating after heavy fire breaks out in vacant structure at 3850 N Emerson. Firefighters arrived to find flames pushing from several windows in the 3 story building. An aggressive attack ensued with one firefighter falling through
the floor resulting in an activated May Day 13 minutes in. The firefighter was quickly extricated, checked on scene and returned to work on the blaze. The fire was brought under control at 00:36 AM with extensive overhaul needed. Searches inside the structure for possible
