The Department of Commerce, in collaboration with the Ministry of Ayush and AYUSHEXCIL, convened a Government–Industry Brainstorming Session on the theme "Strengthening India's Global Leadership in Traditional Wellness: Innovation, Quality, Exports, and International Collaboration in the AYUSH Sector." The session brought together over 150 stakeholders to deliberate on strategies to enhance the global competitiveness of the AYUSH sector.

Discussions focused on FTAs, global branding, export facilitation, quality standards, WHO-GMP compliance, scientific validation, and innovation, with emphasis on strengthening Brand India AYUSH.

The future growth of India’s exports will depend not only on large exporters, but also on the ability of SMEs, artisans and entrepreneurs to access global markets at scale.

E-Commerce Export Hubs have the potential to reduce transaction costs, improve logistics efficiency and simplify export processes, enabling a wider base of businesses to participate in cross-border trade. Expanding digital export channels will be important for diversifying India’s export basket and strengthening its presence in global value chains.

The India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), coming into effect on 15 July 2026, marks a significant milestone in strengthening economic ties between India and the United Kingdom.

The Agreement is expected to expand bilateral trade, improve market access, facilitate greater mobility for professionals and create new opportunities for businesses across goods, services and investment. To help enterprises maximise the benefits of CETA, dedicated advisory support will be made available across the country.

The Commerce Secretary appreciated the efforts of both sides and acknowledged the positive outcomes of the visit of Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Shri @PiyushGoyal to Canada last month, accompanied by the largest-ever high-level Indian business delegation.

Attended the Textiles Summit 2026 chaired by Union Minister of Textiles Shri @girirajsinghbjp, where discussions highlighted that the next phase of export growth for India’s textile sector will depend on translating global opportunities into local, enterprise-led growth.

While FTAs are opening new avenues for market access, sustained export expansion will require deeper engagement by States, stronger district-level export ecosystems, and greater integration of products with unique local strengths into global value chains.
