In a significant gesture coinciding with the celebrations of Saudi National Day, the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has extended a Rs. 150 million developmental grant to the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) for the modernisation of its academic infrastructure.
The grant marks a major step in the University’s ongoing efforts, spearheaded by the President of IIUI, to improve academic and student facilities and transform IIUI into a modern, technology-enabled institution equipped to meet contemporary teaching, learning and research requirements.

The Department of Psychology, IIUI, organized a seminar titled "Islam, Science, and Ageing: Understanding Human Development, Health, and Well-Being across the Lifespan" for its students and faculty.

An international Mehfil-e-Husn-e-Qira’at was organized at Faisal Mosque, Islamabad, under the auspices of the Dawah Academy, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), featuring soulful recitations of the Holy Qur’an by renowned Qaris from Pakistan, Egypt and the United Kingdom. Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf graced the gathering as chief guest, while Director General Dawah Academy Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ilyas presided over the event. A large number of people from Islamabad and Rawalpindi attended the spiritually uplifting gathering. A visiting Turkish delegation led by Prof. Dr. Kemal Aydin, President of the World Ageing Council & head of the Ibn Sina Institute, called on IIUI President & Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed to explore cooperation in Halal food, Islamic lifestyle & spiritual gerontology.
The President shared that IIUI, through its Faculty of Shariah & Law, already offers a diploma in Halal food and has previously hosted a conference in this domain. Prof. Aydin proposed positioning IIUI as a regional hub for spiritual gerontology and Islamic thought, with linkages extending to the eastern Balkan states.

Internet Facility Restored in IIUI Female Hostels
The internet facility in the female hostels of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has been fully restored within three days.
President IIUI, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed, took personal notice of the matter and expressed particular concern that, with the commencement of the new semester, students would require uninterrupted internet access for their academic activities. He issued express instructions for the facility’s immediate restoration and personally monitored the progress.
Acting diligently upon his directives, the University’s IT team worked around the clock, overcoming operational challenges to restore connectivity and ensure the timely facilitation of hostel residents.

IIUI Introduces Digital Fee Payment Options for Fall 2026 Semester
The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has introduced convenient digital fee payment options for students for the Fall 2026 semester, enabling them to pay their university dues without visiting a bank branch. The initiative has been developed through coordinated efforts of the Academics, Fee Section and IT Department teams, keeping in view students’ increasing reliance on digital services and the need for accessible and efficient university processes.
The digital fee payment facility is available to all IIUI students. Students can download their fee challans from the student portal and make payments through Allied Bank (ABL) and Habib Bank (HBL) mobile and internet banking services, as well as through the 1Bill facility available on banking and NBFC apps across Pakistan. Students may also opt for over-the-counter payment at designated branches of ABL, HBL and Bank Alfalah. Students are advised to follow the payment instructions provided on their challans and submit their fees by September 15, 2026, to avoid late payment charges.
The facility reflects IIUI’s commitment to digital transformation and student-centred services, in line with the university’s vision of strengthening efficient, accessible and technology-enabled academic and administrative systems.
