ILTA Supplier Members, join us this Thursday for a Government Affairs Briefing focused on the issues affecting liquid terminals and the companies that support them.
Thursday, October 8 | 1:00–2:00 PM ET
We’ll cover the upcoming election outlook, ILTA’s advocacy priorities, the Gasoline Distribution Rule, PFAS, and FAA-related developments. We’ve also set aside time for your questions and the industry issues you’re seeing.
We hope you’ll join us! Email Meredith DeZemler at [email protected] to receive the Teams meeting invitation.
ILTA hosted its 2nd Annual Energy Champions Reception during the 55th CBC Annual Legislative Conference. We were honored to welcome Congressman Troy Carter (LA-2) and look forward to continuing our work with his office on behalf of the liquid terminal industry.
Thank you to our partner, Waste Management, and our generous sponsors, IMTT, Plural, and GPA Midstream, for their support in making this year’s reception a success.
At terminals across the country, truck drivers are part of the operation from the moment they pull through the gate.
They follow terminal procedures, coordinate at the loading rack, verify each load, and transport it safely beyond the gate. The work requires focus, patience, and responsibility at every step.
To the professional drivers who are a familiar and essential part of terminal operations every day: thank you for doing your job safely and doing it well. 🚛
ILTA is launching a new Government Affairs briefing series designed specifically for Supplier Members to stay informed on legislative and regulatory developments affecting the terminal industry.
Join us Thursday, October 8, from 1:00–2:00 p.m. ET for updates on Washington, ILTA’s government affairs priorities, the Gasoline Distribution Rule, PFAS, FAA developments, and what suppliers should be watching.
The briefing will also include time for Supplier Member questions, industry issues you are seeing, and topics you would like ILTA to address in future briefings.
Interested in attending? Contact Meredith DeZemler at [email protected] for the meeting invitation.
“Calm is not passive; it is an active discipline.”
In ILTA’s latest Board feature, James Hill, Senior Vice President of Operations at BWC Terminals, shares why calm matters when the stakes are high and where he sees the greatest opportunity for ILTA as AI becomes a larger part of terminal operations.
He also gets specific about how BWC uses ILTA’s regulatory resources and how the ILTA Conference & Trade Show inspired several of the company’s most impactful workforce initiatives.
His perspective is well worth the read. Read the full interview: https://t.co/NgNxIZcmNt
Twenty-five years later, we remember the lives lost on September 11 and honor the first responders who showed extraordinary courage in the face of unimaginable tragedy.
We also remember the families and survivors who continue to carry the weight of that day.
We will never forget.
For many in our industry, Labor Day is still a workday.
We’re grateful to the terminal professionals who keep essential products moving safely. To those on shift this holiday, an extra thank-you. We appreciate you and the care you bring to your work every day.
Wishing you and your families a safe and enjoyable Labor Day.
Emergency preparedness is part of the everyday work of running a safe terminal. September’s National Preparedness Month is a chance to give that work some extra attention.
The time teams spend preparing together helps build a shared understanding of what to do and how to communicate during an incident. It also creates space to ask questions before an emergency demands answers.
This September, ILTA encourages members to keep those conversations going and make time to revisit how their teams would and should respond in an emergency.
Bring your challenges. Talk through solutions with people who understand your work.

The Environment Committee has plenty to talk through in Chicago, including best practices for transitioning away from PFAS-based firefighting foams and a deep dive into the Gasoline Distribution and NSPS Subpart Kc rules. The roundtable gives members room to raise their own questions and hear how other companies are approaching environmental challenges.
And the invitation extends beyond those working in environmental compliance. All employees of ILTA terminal member companies are welcome. With Environment, Health & Safety, Security, and Government Affairs on the agenda, there’s plenty to learn outside your usual focus.
If you’ve been meaning to get more involved with ILTA, this is a good place to start.

August 27 is recognized as National Petroleum Day, commemorating the first commercially successful oil well in the United States and the beginning of the modern petroleum industry in 1859.
Petroleum supports everyday life in ways both visible and unseen. At the center of that supply chain are liquid terminals and the skilled professionals who safely store and move the products our communities and economy depend on.
Today and every day, ILTA is proud to represent the terminal professionals who make this critical work possible.
Safety professionals, THIS is a conversation you’ll want to be a part of.
