Bersama Menteri Luar Negeri RI Sugiono, saya melaksanakan Pertemuan 2+2 Indonesia-Australia dengan Wakil Perdana Menteri sekaligus Menteri Pertahanan Australia Richard Marles dan Menteri Luar Negeri Australia Penny Wong di Melbourne, Australia (Rabu, 26 Agustus 2026).
Pertemuan ini menjadi momentum penting untuk memperkuat kemitraan strategis Indonesia–Australia, khususnya di bidang pertahanan dan keamanan, serta memperluas sinergi di bidang ekonomi dan prioritas pembangunan kedua negara.
Sebagai pertemuan 2+2 pertama setelah penandatanganan Traktat Jakarta oleh Presiden RI @prabowo dan Perdana Menteri Australia Anthony Albanese, kami membahas langkah-langkah konkret untuk mengimplementasikan komitmen kedua negara, termasuk penguatan komunikasi strategis, peningkatan kerja sama pertahanan, serta berbagai inisiatif praktis yang memberikan manfaat nyata bagi Indonesia dan Australia.

Menhan RI Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin @sjafriesjams dan Wakil PM sekaligus Menhan Australia Richard Marles menggelar Informal Defence Ministers’ Meeting di Melbourne, Rabu (26/8), untuk memperkuat implementasi kerja sama pertahanan.
Together with Minister @sjafriesjams, we co-chaired the 10th Indonesia–Australia Foreign and Defence Ministers’ 2+2 Meeting with Foreign Minister @SenatorWong and Defence Minister @RichardMarlesMP (26/8).
We exchanged views on a wide range of issues of common interests, including translating the Jakarta Treaty into concrete action, while strengthening our cooperation to build a more resilient region.
Minister Wong and I also signed the MoU on Trilateral Cooperation with Pacific Island Countries, underscoring disaster risk management and humanitarian response among the key areas of cooperation.
Our shared commitment to good neighbourly relations will continue to guide and strengthen the Indonesia–Australia partnership 🇦🇺🤝🇮🇩
