The antisemitism case against comedian Reginald Hunter has been thrown out in remarkably contemptuous terms.
Striking how often when an impartial and conscientious judge looks closely at these cases they are appalled by the sheer dishonesty (see also the rulings in favour of Michael Rosen and James Wilson in 2024 and the University and College Union in 2013)
"The Campaign Against Antisemitism have demonstrated by the misleading and partial way in which it summarised its application and its wilful, repeated, failure to meet its disclosure obligations, that its true and sole motive in seeking to prosecute Reginald Hunter is to have him cancelled .... I have no doubt that the prosecution is abusive ... My view of the conduct of the CAA is consistent with them as an organisation which is not 'playing it straight' but is seeking to use the criminal justice system, in this case for improper reasons."
The judge ordered that his judgement be disclosed and attached to any future case brought by the CAA.
Perhaps @BBCNews could take note and stop treating the CAA's Chief Executive, Gideon Falter, as a spokesman for the Jewish community.

Excellent piece by Professor Cathryn Costello (@ProfCCostello) of @UCDLawSchool in today’s Irish Times: Ireland should resist cheap and tough talk on migration…
Make no mistake: in attempting to unleash thousands of foaming-at-the-mouth ethnonationalist Macabbi Tel Aviv fans on an area of Birmingham with a large Muslim population, the government is actively attempting to start a race riot. People are going to be killed.
This morning our Chief Commissioner Liam Herrick was on LMFM discussing Traveller discrimination, accommodation, and national strategy.

Wow.
This is absolutely huge.
After the attacks, Spain is offering direct military protection to the flotilla bringing humanitarian aid to Gaza.
So what now, Israel?
Are you going to risk acts of war against a European nation so you can attack humanitarian vessels?
You are not competing for housing with the recent migrant from Brazil who pays €400 a month cash to sleep on a bunk bed in a room with 11 other people in it
Comment: Savagery like the attack on the innocent man in Tallaght can be expected as long as government punishes migrants for problems it creates, then feigns shock when members of the public mirror acts of sadism perpetrated by the state itself.

Fifty years ago today, three of our band-mates, Tony Geraghty, Fran O’Toole and Brian McCoy, were murdered for bringing happiness, hope and joy to everyone during the darkest days of our recent, shared history. There is no greater legacy. There is no greater love. #MiamiShowband
A wonderful official statement by St Mary’s Cathedral in Limerick in response to the few Far-Right actors who abuse religion in their pursuit of division, hate and intolerance #LimerickSaysYes 👏
