We believe beautiful design can and should live everywhere. Coming in 2022: unique collections of NFTs that, once minted and revealed, are redeemable for their physical form.
Because an artist's best work shouldn't stay stuck in a sketchbook.
@trevorjonesart Curious for your take: how do you think about the value of an NFT (rarity within a collection aside)? Importance ratio of personal aesthetic, confidence in project overall, other considerations. In other words: how do you decide what to invest in!?
“I don’t know why I precisely painted it this way” is the truest, most relatable quote we’ve read in awhile. Bringing this energy (spontaneity, honesty, humility) into the week ahead 🎨
“I don’t know why I precisely painted it this way,” Henri Matisse once said of “The Red Studio.”
Last chance! See the first-ever reunion of the art and objects depicted in the artist’s painting through September 10.

Before you can do something well, you have to do it poorly.
Good morning to all the makers — artists, poets, designers, architects, photographers, glass blowers, ceramicists — whose work currently sucks. We can’t wait to see what you’ll do next.
What’s an example of a product you own that could be mundane, but you actually love because of the power of great design?
Some of ours:
-Pens by @mujiusa
-Can opener by @OXO
-Trash bags by @simplehuman (the cardboard reminder when you’re running low? Brilliant)
What are some of your favorite examples of art forms that haven’t always been recognized as art by The Institution?
Like:
-Graffiti and street art
-Fashion
-Furniture and interior design
-What else??
Our first product drop is a collection of NFTs redeemable for the corresponding object in its physical form.
Any guesses what it is?! 👀
If you’re right, we’ll donate $100 to @CreativeGrowth_ 👇🏾
Hi @risd! Can you introduce us to your most promising student and up-and-coming Industrial Designers? We’ve got a project we think they might find interesting…

Know a designer, artist, or maker who we might work with to produce their unpublished work (both digitally and in its physical form)? Introduce us in the thread or DMs 🤝
If you’re building a project using the blockchain we think you should ask some “do not pass go” questions that we ask ourselves at IW:
-Is this relevant & interesting to people NOT already deep in web3?
-Does the blockchain add real value, or is it a gimmick/window dressing?
@pitdesi A) your tweet is funny.
B) we think sometimes cool, interesting design — design that makes you smile, question how things should work, makes you think or feel something — is inherently valuable. It’s the whole point.
