Dr. Al Jasser closed the seminar “Scaling Up Climate Finance for Impact: Turning Policy Reform into Resilient Growth” with a concrete proposal for fellow Multilateral Development Banks: select a country where several institutions already work and deliver an adaptation project together, with coordination and joint ownership from the outset.

At the 2026 #AIIBAnnualMeeting flagship seminar, “Scaling Up Climate Finance for Impact: Turning Policy Reform into Resilient Growth,” #IsDB Group Chairman H.E. Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser put successful implementation at the heart of the discussion.

Drawing on IsDB’s experience, he outlined three mechanisms for turning policy ambition into investment:
▪️ Country-led planning: Start with national priorities and programs designed by countries themselves
▪️ An integrated approach: Combine sovereign and private sector financing, trade finance, investment insurance, and knowledge sharing to support implementation
▪️ Long term strategic partnerships:Build the continuity and cooperation needed to deliver at scale

He cited IsDB’s US$1.15 billion in financing for Kazakhstan’s water security program, covering more than 3,400 kilometers of canals, as an example of supporting country-led priorities through large-scale investment.

Dr. Rami Ahmad, #IsDB Vice President, Operations, met with H.E. Ahead of the 2026 #AIIBAnnualMeeting in Doha, H.E. Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser, Chairman of the Islamic Development Bank (#IsDB) Group, met with Ms. Zou Jiayi, President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (@AIIB_Official).
