Canada’s mental health crisis costs the economy $180 billion annually, according to a new CSA Group report co-authored IWH's Dr. Kathleen Dobson.

A large portion of that estimate—$110 billion—is borne by employers. #mentalhealthmatters #mentalwellness

That includes the costs of disability claims, group benefits, wage replacement, accommodations and insurance premiums, absenteeism and presenteeism.

The report findings point to the need for greater mental health prevention efforts, including those in and around workplaces.
