What an absolute disgrace. A FIFA-certified referee being denied entry to the United States purely because he is Somali.
The World Cup is meant to bring people together. This is racism, plain and simple. Shameful.

Minister @fkeyamo The proposed railway line from Ikeja to Lagos Airport ALSO IN IKEJA appears to be nothing more than a waste of scarce public resources. It is difficult to justify this project on economic or transportation grounds; it looks more like a vanity project than a priority investment.
One of the commendable decisions of your tenure as Aviation Minister and the Tinubu administration is the ongoing upgrade of MMIA. However, this particular rail project raises serious questions about value for money.
What exactly is the distance between Ikeja and MMIA? Traffic along that corridor is not so severe that it warrants a dedicated rail line.
A more practical and cost effective solution would be to dualise and improve the existing road network linking MMIA through the Beckley/Beacham Police Station axis to the FAAN headquarters. Such an upgrade would ease traffic, improve accessibility, and deliver greater benefits at a fraction of the cost.
At a time when resources are limited and infrastructure needs are immense, government spending should be guided by necessity, efficiency, and measurable public benefit, not prestige projects.
Lambert: Iran has been at war with us for a long time.
Sunshine: How many US citizens have they killed on US soil? It’s an easy answer. You should know it or is it like Ted Cruz where you don’t know the population of Iran?
Lambert: I don’t know.
Iran bombed Israel and the world didn’t end. I haven’t heard any noise from any of the European leaders. If I were Israel I would be worried. Something is certainly changing and it isn’t in favour of Israel.
National teams are training on school football pitches. Do you know how standard a school pitch must be for it to be cleared for a National team in a World Cup preparation.
We are cooked in Africa
Lebanon’s President Joseph Aoun has this message for Iran: “There is a huge difference between helping us or interfering in our internal affairs… The people of Lebanon are paying the price… You are destroying the country for the sake of your own interest.”
@LBpresidency
I'd love to see what the UK would do if Iran launched a ballistic missile strike on Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester and Israel.....
Because this is Israel's reality.
What do you think the UK would do?
Economics will struggle to have their “ICAN” equivalent, because it is too subjective to have a consensus on ideas.
Two chartered accountants would agree on how to prepare a balance sheet.
Two qualified economists would have opposing views on monetary policy and interest rates.
George Russell is at a critical turning point in his career because his teenage teammate is completely outperforming him in the same car.
George Russell was supposed to be the undisputed team leader at Mercedes after Lewis Hamilton left. Instead, 19-year-old Kimi Antonelli has taken over the 2026 season. Antonelli leads the world championship with 156 points, while Russell is far behind in third place with 88 points.
Let’s look at the numbers:
1. The Shocking Drop in Qualifying Dominance
In 2025, Russell was the clear master of the Mercedes garage on Saturdays. He beat Antonelli in qualifying a massive 21 times to 3.
This year, that advantage has vanished. Antonelli leads the qualifying head-to-head 4 to 2. In Formula One, your teammate is your ultimate benchmark. Losing his biggest strength—one-lap raw speed—to a younger driver damages Russell's status as a future team leader.
2. Failure to Turn Pace into Sunday Wins
The biggest difference between the two drivers right now is what happens on race day.
•Antonelli is ruthless: He has 5 Grand Prix wins this season. He became the first driver ever to turn his first three pole positions straight into race victories. When he is at the front, he does not make mistakes. He even beat Russell by 43 seconds in Miami.
•Russell is inconsistent: Russell only has 1 Grand Prix win this year. While he has been excellent in the shorter Sprint races (leading Antonelli 3 to 0), Sprints offer very few points. Russell is failing to deliver when the big points are on the table on Sundays.
3. Mistakes Under Pressure
A true championship contender must be perfect when things go wrong. Lately, Russell and his side of the garage have crumbled under pressure:
•At the Canadian Grand Prix, he took pole position but failed to finish due to a mechanical issue.
•At the Monaco Grand Prix, a podium finish turned into a nightmare. A speeding mistake in the pit lane and a poorly managed team penalty dropped him to 13th place.
While some of these issues are bad luck or team errors, great drivers find ways to salvage points on bad days. Antonelli is maximizing every weekend, while Russell is letting points slip away.
Why Russell Must Step Up Now
Russell is 28 years old and has 158 race starts of experience. Antonelli is only 19 and in his second season. Russell should be using his years of experience to outsmart and out-manage the teenager. Instead, the rookie is driving like the veteran.
If Russell wants to prove he is a future World Champion—and secure his place as the long-term future of Mercedes—he has to stop the bleeding. He must fix the qualifying deficit, eliminate mistakes, and start turning his pace into race wins.
