This will be MY final post about the situation. I may still repost other people’s thoughts & echo their sentiments but will be my last public statement directly from me or I’ll be considered to be “creating drama.” At the VERY least I deserve my thoughts to be heard and not to just be told to accept it/move on.

I have been threatened in multiple ways, with supposed legal action and death threats. I have been told the most evil bigoted shit I’ve ever heard online. What he and his team did legitimately brought out the worst most sick people in his defense. When I messaged him last year I just wanted a clear & direct answer of if he was transphobic or not, not from a PR person but from him directly in which I got blocked for asking. I wanted to know that he didn’t agree with content he liked saying that trans people are mentally ill & pedophiles and that drag queens are targeting people’s children.

Along with everything I was put through this past week, many others were blocked, ignored, and also had evil things said to them. He posted the “I know me..” statement, posted a video attacking me saying I was lying about everything which he deleted, came out as Christian on Instagram in the “I took a drive today..” post and then on his third try had someone else write a statement which was so obviously not from him. In the statement, it was acknowledged that he did actually like all of the content (which means I didn’t lie and that he lied to the public) and that he was a teenager which he was not, he was 21. The statement also shifted the majority of the blame onto his team as if his team had his phone when he posted all the prior posts. It also said he didn’t know Shapiro’s beliefs. How do you not know all the content you are liking is anti-trans and anti-drag queen when that’s exactly what the content is about?

I can 99% guarantee he will not drop Gridlockd even after this because they share the same beliefs as him and it won’t matter enough to him - even with them also being outed to have conned people. All I’ve seen since he posted this statement are people saying “it was perfectly written” & “we accept your apology” & “you were just a kid.” Of course it was perfectly written, it was written by a PR person that’s their job. He was not a kid, let’s stop infantilizing adults especially ones who have bigoted beliefs.

I can 99% guarantee that he will never reach out to me in any way to apologize to me for what HE put me, a gay trans person, through this entire past week and will continue to be put through, just for wanting to know if he hated my community and then spreading awareness because he still believes I was wrong for doing so and that I will not accept a statement written by a PR person & possibly AI as a truthful/sincere apology.

I ask that everyone does not just let this statement sweep everything under the rug. Actions matter more than words and all of his actions and his lies to everyone this past week prove that he is someone who cannot be trusted. They want you to take him at the word that he grew and changed overnight and that he “donated to LGBTQI+ organizations.” The purpose of this statement is so that people move on and possibly even forget. If we continue to let white straight men get away with the things they do and say with no consequences & no actions to back up their “growth” & “apology” then the cycle will just continue and marginalized people will still be hurt in the process. Accepting the absolute bare minimum is harmful.

I will never feel safe even just near one of his shows given how he and his team treated me, and the people that make up his fanbase. They tried to silence me but I will never be silent about my community, other marginalized people and abuse survivors. It is my right as the #1 victim of this to feel this way and not accept the apology at face value.

I do hope he does apologize directly, and that you can still feel safe in the scene!

@lycheebeach @emorfik_ Especially when sending that C&D has caused that individual to receive a lot of unwarranted hate and death threats! A step in the right direction, but it’s also not my apology to accept. Hope a safer and loving space can be created again.
