#Isaias is a hurricane - the first one of the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season. The forecast remains on track. The storm will move between a developing trough over Texas and a ridge building in the Atlantic. Landfall will be near the Florida/Alabama line Friday night. Environmental conditions favor intensification before a dramatic increase in vertical wind shear weakens the storm before landfall. Regardless of any weakening, Isaias will be a formidable storm at landfall. Tides will run 1-3 feet above normal along our west coast, especially during the new moon high tide cycles as the storm passes well west of us. Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms will continue into the weekend
All signs pointed to a below normal hurricane season, no one thought it would go to this extreme.
There have been ZERO hurricanes in the North Atlantic so far this year.
September 10th (Thursday) is considered the "peak" of the Atlantic hurricane season. If we get through Friday without one forming, it will be the first time in the satellite era (since 1966) that we have gone this deep into the year without a hurricane in the Atlantic!
There have been two hurricane seasons that ended up with no hurricanes on record, 1907 and 1914. However, those seasons occurred long before satellites monitored the oceans, meaning several open-sea hurricanes likely went undetected by ships. Since satellite tracking began, the quietest seasons on record produced two hurricanes, 1982 and 2013. The way things are going, that record is also in jeopardy! #ElNiño
A photographer took a picture just as this couple threw ashes into a river. He asked who it was. They answered their dog. The photographer asked for permission to edit their photo and this was the result.
The level of destruction from the tornado in Appleton, Menasha, and Neenah, Wisconsin is unfathomable.
This just doesn’t happen here. I’ve lived here for 45 years, I know.

Always a great conversation with Dan…like hanging out with an old friend who asks the best questions to start a conversation rolling, except there isn’t any pancakes or coffee. @FOX9

@JimNashMN Hurts my heart man…That is like saying “what a great football game” to Vikings fans when they lose in the NFC championship. (I am also a Vikings fan, best not to do that either).
