The Institute will present six 'Distinguished Alumni Awards (DAA)' and two 'Graduates of Last Decade (GOLD) Awards' to its esteemed #alumni at the 57th #convocation ceremony.
#IITDelhi successfully organized the 3rd Global Forum and International Conference on Industrial Plasma Processes and Diagnostics (IPPD 2026) from 1–3 July 2026 under the "Plasma Pravah (प्रवाह): Legacy and Society Initiative."
Jointly organized by the Department of Energy Science and Engineering (DESE) and the Department of Physics, the conference brought together eminent scientists, academicians, industry leaders, and young researchers from India and abroad to deliberate on recent advances in plasma science and technology for sustainable societal development. The conference was conceived and successfully convened by Prof. Bibhuti Bhusan Sahu under the guidance and chairmanship of Prof. Ramesh Narayanan, Head of the Department of Energy Science and Engineering, IIT Delhi, and Chairperson of IPPD 2026. As the driving force behind the IPPD conference series since its inception, Prof. Sahu has consistently led this international forum to promote plasma science and technology for societal applications by fostering global collaborations, academia–industry partnerships and nurturing young researchers.
The scientific programme featured four plenary lectures, ten keynote lectures, invited talks, industry sessions, and student presentations. A major highlight was the keynote lecture by Prof. Ram Prakash (IIT Jodhpur), "Plasma Science and Technology for Transitioning the World from a State of FEAR to FAIR," emphasizing plasma-enabled solutions for sustainable and inclusive development.
The conference also felicitated Prof. A. Ganguli for his pioneering contributions to plasma science and technology. IPPD 2026 reaffirmed IIT Delhi's leadership in plasma research while advancing the translation of plasma innovations into technologies that benefit society.

#IITDelhi Organises #CSR Conclave 2026 on Environment & Sustainability; Showcases Technology Solutions Developed by its Researchers
The conclave, hosted by the Corporate Relations Office, IIT Delhi, served as a premier platform to showcase the Institute’s research capabilities, facilitate industry-academia engagement, and encourage CSR investments in technology-driven solutions addressing national priorities.
The conclave also marked the launch of two significant initiatives by the Corporate Relations Office, viz., CSR Project Compendium, featuring high-impact research and societal projects seeking CSR support and CSR Impact Stories, showcasing successful CSR-funded initiatives implemented at IIT Delhi over the past few years and their measurable impact.
A major highlight of the event was a research & innovation showcase, where IIT Delhi faculty presented cutting-edge technologies and research aligned with the Government of India's strategic priority areas, including Agriculture and Rural Impact, Clean Energy Technologies, Sustainable Materials and Circularity, Waste to Resource and many more areas related to the theme.

#IITDelhi is proud to announce the inauguration of a state-of-the-art CNC and Sterilization & Packaging Lab at mPragati, a national translational platform dedicated to advancing medical device and diagnostics innovation. Dr. Rajiv Bahl, Secretary to Government of India, Department of Health Research and DG, @ICMRDELHI, inaugurated the facilities in the presence of Prof. Rangan Banerjee, Director, IIT Delhi.
The CNC facility provides state-of-the-art precision machining for medical implants, surgical instruments, dental devices, and diagnostic components — enabling indigenous manufacturing with certified biocompatible materials. The Sterilization & Packaging facility provides an end-to-end infrastructure for the development, validation, sterilization, and packaging of medical devices, diagnostics, and biomedical products.
These facilities directly strengthen India’s capability to design, validate, and commercialize high-quality medical devices in line with the vision of #AtmanirbharBharat, while supporting ICMR’s mission of translational biomedical research and advancing national healthcare priorities.
