What if you discovered that everything you knew about Gaza was wrong?

This is what happened to me in 2018, when I stumbled on a video on social media, made by ordinary Gazans, displaying a middle class standard of living that I didn't realise was possible.

This ultimately led to #TheGazaYouDontSee, where I share linked and timestamped social media content from Gaza, that challenges the common conception of life there.

Obviously things have changed a lot for Gazans since Hamas invaded Israel on October 7 2023, but still, what I see on Gazan social media differs greatly from the picture shown by news outlets the world over.

Here is a short video I created in 2022 giving a glimpse of the extreme inequality in allocation of resources that is so startling in Gaza, especially considering that their economy relies heavily on aid and donations.

Update:
There is hope yet.

It appears I was locked out because of an apparent hacking attempt and I couldn't get back in.

There has been some progress though, so we'll know in a day or two.
