We also discussed possible collaborations with the CILIP Metadata and Discovery Group. Thanks to the SI and CILIP members who attended for such a stimulating and expansive discussion.
Our monthly Coffee Morning today discussed links, differences and potential collaborations between indexers and library and information professionals (LIPs), joined by members of CILIP. Many indexers come from an this background, and often do this work alongside indexing.
Several members present were both LIPs and indexers and shared the affinities they found between these areas of work, and how they can work together symbiotically.
