@FieldAgentInc They pay poverty wages, routinely keep shopper’s tips, withhold pertinent delivery information from the shoppers (addresses, etc) so a contractor can’t make informed decisions about accepting orders and penalize time off by withholding hours. They need serious improvement.

@dorkrawk@apoorva_mehta@Instacart Now all the app, dispatch and tip-eating glitches make total sense. Because non-technical employees are pretending to be engineers. 🙄
@Instacart I wasted the entire day & put 65 miles on my truck to make this happen. Subtract $10 (gas), 15% (taxes), divide by 8.75 (hrs), I made $1.57 per hour today.
Before you dropped our base rate from $12 to $4 & defaulted tips to 5%, this would’ve been at least a $60 day.
@Instacart, UNINTENTIONALLY hiding pertinent information? Well, I call BS. I was literally told by your support team that addresses were being hidden to keep us shoppers from refusing certain orders. You have broken the law. You were called out on it. And now you’re backpedaling.
@bizcarson This “bug” has a name... THIEVERY. Their “bug” also has a habit of steeling shopper’s tips. It’s funny though, this “bug” never accidentally forgets to line CEO pockets, nor does it accidentally overpay its frontline workforce. 🤔
@Tw1tterMeThis @Instacart If you like your shopper, consider offering them a cold drink to go and a little cash for their gas tank. They will love you for it and remember you next time and take extra good care of you. I promise.
@Tw1tterMeThis @Instacart My problem with them is two fold... I need to make a living wage. And also, I hate to see these kind people pay a yearly fee, plus a per item markup, and a service fee AND possibly have their tip misappropriated. It’s just not right.
@Tw1tterMeThis @Instacart Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want them to shut down. I just want to be proud to say I work for them. I live in the community I service, and I’d like to recruit customers. But I can’t in good faith when I see a sweet little lady give a tip to me and it never shows up in my pay. 😔
@Tw1tterMeThis @Instacart It’s so frustrating. The service in theory is fantastic. So many customers are disabled or elderly and it’s a benefit. And the shoppers truly enjoy making their customers happy. But when the corporate thugs are ripping off both their customers and workforce it’s unacceptable.
@Healthy_Heather Want to know what we make on some days? Could you work 6 hours for $14?
It’s a daily gamble. You have no idea if they’re going to “allow” you one batch or eight. But you HAVE to be in your zone or you get punished. Slow days could be ok if they were paying fair on busy days.
@Transgineering @Instacart In November I made a base rate of $11 for a full service shop and deliver. This week I’m working for $4.25 for that same shop and deliver. AND @instacart has defaulted tips to 5%. (Average $2 - $3) In what other sector of the service industry is 5% considered appropriate??
@Tw1tterMeThis @Instacart@Instacart’s full service shoppers are working for poverty wages. We’re fighting for living wages as we speak. We’ve already managed to bring awareness about (and hold accountable) the company for stealing tips. Now we are confronting their other unethical business practices.
