From “Old Ireland in Colour 3” 📘:
Margaret Skinnider (centre), republican, teacher, and trade unionist, was born in Glasgow, Scotland, to immigrant parents from Co. Monaghan
c. 1916, Dublin
If you want to find out more about Skinnider, we recommend the book by @MaryMcAuliffe4
@MaryMcAuliffe4 Thanks Mary! Do you know anything of where her mother's family came from in Meath? I also saw on MyHeritage that her mother's mother was from Cavan but can't confirm - it may be the Meath info is in her mother's [Scottish?] birth record somewhere...

Clarification via Facebook: She was born in Coatbridge, which is 8.5 miles from or on the outskirts of Glasgow - her father's (James) roots are in Monaghan (Cornagilta, Tydavnet) and her mother's (Jane [O']Dowd, Barrhead, East Renfrewshire) roots are likely originally in Meath
Ryan Tubridy is almost as big a fan of Old Ireland in Colour 3 as we are!
