Genuine question do yall go back and watch vids u took at concerts. Not counting the day after the concert when you’re still kinda drunk from the $18 white claw u had at the concert. Bc I definitely don’t
I'm dying laughing at the people going 'but what if you're literally dying and you have to plug your phone into your ass to save your life, do they make exceptions?!'
homelander was a villain and needed to die but i can’t believe the series ends with the death of an exploited abused child rather than the collapse of the company and system that created him
Insanely funny that Jon Favreau made a sincere smaller budget film about how the studio system broke him as a filmmaker and then immediately returned to make the most dogshit blockbusters you’ve ever seen for perpetuity.
the most fake woke, performative show of all time just had a finale where the message is that we should mind our business instead of stand up to corporate greed
The Boys finale was disappointing, and all the posters and marketing were lies.
We all said it would be impossible to wrap everything up in a single episode without it feeling rushed and unfortunately, this finale does feel rushed.
What’s included is fine, and I really loved some of the biggest scenes here especially Homelander’s ending but I can’t help but feel that so much more could have been done and told so much better if all the events here were spread out over the rest of the season. It’s especially bad in the last 20 minutes where it feels like an arc that should have been an entire episode on its own is wrapped up in like 10 minutes. The world of the Boys has never felt smaller than it did this season, gone are the big scenes with crowds and showing how the average population reacts to the events of The Boys, it often felt like these events were all happening in a vacuum and weren’t affecting anyone outside the Church and the immediate cast.
Homelander never truly snaps, he never has a big moment, all the posters of him destroying the world or a collapsed vought tower were misleading. And that part hurts most because its what the entire show has built up to from the pilot until now, its a huge wasted opportunity and something the entire season should’ve centered around but thats just never done. And Butcher’s arc while great on paper, is shoved in at the end here so unceremoniously and ends as fast as it is introduced.
This one episode could’ve been stretched out over an incredible final season but instead we got one hour that attempts to fit 4-5 episodes of story into one.
I don’t think I will ever understand why they never thought to move the story forward in the last 4 episodes and instead attempt to fit everything important into a single one hour episode, its one of those writing decisions that will confuse me forever, and unfortunately, The Boys final season will go down as likely one of the weakest final seasons of TV.
I am not sure how we’ll look back on this finale, maybe I’ll feel better about it later on but for now, I am disappointed but not surprised at all.
no resolution for MM or SB
kimiko is able to take homelander’s lasers despite them splitting her in half in ep1
