The UN Human Rights Council created this ongoing Commission of Inquiry in 2021 with an open-ended mandate focused solely on the OPT and Israel, including root causes. Israel is also the only country with a permanent HRC agenda item (Item 7).

The Commission says it examines violations by all parties. The US and others criticize the structure as reflecting disproportionate scrutiny unique to Israel versus other conflicts.

Netanel leaves behind his widow, Merav, and six children.

Samara was captured alive.

Under the Palestinian Authority’s Pay-for-Slay system, Samara will receive a stipend six times the salary of a PA public school teacher.

One family lost a father and a husband.

His murderer enters a system designed to reward terrorists.

On the left is Netanel Shakron, 48, a father of six who went with his son to immerse in a natural spring on Yom Kippur eve.

On the right is Qadri Samara, 37, a Palestinian terrorist who went out the same day with a machine-gun to murder Jews.

Both men went to do what they considered sacred.

Their paths crossed at that natural spring. Samara opened fire, murdering Netanel in an act of Palestinian terrorism - in front of his 16-year-old son, Yoav.

In his final moments, Netanel saved Yoav’s life: “Dad, thank you for giving me my life.”

I updated her on the positive developments in Israel-Morocco relations and on the outcomes of last Wednesday’s trilateral meeting in New York. I also proposed advancing joint projects involving Israel, Morocco and the European Union.

We discussed progress on two important EU-led humanitarian projects in Gaza on waste water treatment, and waste disposal.

11:30 - A Palestinian terrorist opens fire on Israelis near Neveh Tzuf. A 30-year-old Israeli is murdered.

12:36 - An attempted ramming attack near Jenin. No Israelis injured.

13:08 - An Israeli who mistakenly enters a Palestinian village in the Hebron Hills is reportedly attacked and injured.

13:39 - Another reported attempted ramming attack near Rimonim Junction.

13:42 - A vehicle reportedly attempts to ram two Israelis near Silwad before fleeing.

This is the reality of Palestinian terror: Israelis targeted for being Israeli - even on the eve of our holiest day.
