Like it or not, these are facts that can’t be ignored. Anyone who thinks that we can sustain dollar for dollar tariffs against the world’s largest economy, military hegemony, and reserve currency is foolish.
🔥 LMAO! Scott Bessent is absolutely CLOWNING ON Canada after their “threats” against us
“What are they gonna do? Take their 2 submarines from the Edmonton Mall and sic them on us?” 🤣
“I don't think you can be in a tit-for-tat with someone who's 13 times larger than you are!”
@AkaashMaharaj With respect living on a farm property and being a full time professional farmer are two different things. We should be very careful as to what “cards” are played in this situation, the agronomic blowback could be devastating
So many Canadians, including Akaash are cosplay agronomists… NPK are most critical in that order. 95% of P used in Canadian fert comes from US. Eastern Canada does not produce enough N for its consumption meaning a great deal of imported N which depends on US distribution.
Potash could be Canada’s single most devastating countermeasure in the US tariff war.
American agriculture is critically dependent on potash to fertilise its fields. Up to 90% comes from Canada; no other country can readily meet that demand.
But export taxes on potash would also impose pain on Saskatchewanian producers, and invite panicked retaliation from the US administration.
I spoke with the @NationalPost’s @EllieJourno, about the gathering high-stakes game of chicken.
‼️JUST IN: The USA is "nearing a deal" to replace most Canadian Oil
Per Axios, they are nearing a deal secure leasing rights to roughly 17 Venezuelan oil fields --
securing 2–3 million b/d Venezuelan sour heavy crude by 2030
Jameson Greer went on the CBC for 25 MINUTES to explain to Canada how the trade deal fell apart
Point by point VERY specifically.
Dominic Leblanc on CNN? Just talking points and "there were some disagreements"
I believe the Americans here
Ontario cattle fed prices
June 18th week 590 rail price
July 6th week 570
Two plants close in the North east 26k less harvested / week
Mexico opens up on feeders
Tariff free beef coming
Today 500 rail price
6 week rug pull slam on the markets
1000 lb carcass $900/head less
@MarkJCarney Thanks for tariffing my farm you ashole my new planter is coming from the USA and your proposal will cost me 150 thousand dollars to feed Canadian people
