OK, first, I don’t hate this idea. I just don’t think it’s economically viable.
I used the new Nissan Stadium as the benchmark for this graphic overlay on the existing Rate Field site. A new Bears Stadium would likely be larger.
That’s pretty damn big.
Yes, I’ve thought about putting it across the street, where the original ballpark was. But that would mean eliminating Armour Square, and you know Friends of the Parks would have that tied up in court for ages.
The Bears are also going to want a mixed-use development around the stadium. Where the hell is that supposed to go?
And if you did build an entertainment district there, where is all the parking supposed to go?
I’m just saying, economically, this doesn’t seem like a viable location…
I do not understand how or why Greek life still exists on universities.
I do not understand how or why parents would allow their child to join -- not to mention pay extra for that experience.
Total debauchery disguised as "networking" and "community."
@PaulFos88935127@E720Economy@DieHard_Chicago@thekapman There is no public land on the Chicago lakefront and the Bears want to own their stadium…. I know, this insane argument has been going on a long time already, but we’ve been over that. 🤷🏻♂️
Vice President JD Vance on H1-B visas:
"If you’re going to bring in an accountant making $45,000 a year to replace an accountant who is an American making $60,000 a year, that’s not you using the program to bring in a genius. That’s you destroying American jobs and defrauding the American people... my view is the H1-B program is completely broken."

David Kaplan is hearing the Bears could look at the White Sox stadium land.
"I'm hearing there is some discussion about whether that is a viable piece of land to build a new Bears stadium." (via @thekapman)
Sox lease ends in 2029. The Bears lease ends 2033. Goodell wants IL.
