South Carolina got a no-brainer, elite talent at a high-value position in Josh Dobson, writes @jcshurburtt

-Dobson runs a 10.4-second 100-meter, so he's clearly fast, but it's how he uses that speed that makes him special.

-There were tons of people involved at Carolina that deserve credit for landing Dobson.

-There was not a lot of concern on the part of South Carolina that they would not land him in the end, but obviously they knew they had to battle.

South Carolina did not want to get too far away from its previous identity even with the switch to Nike, instead choosing for more subtle uniform tweaks.

But Jeremiah Donati did not rule out future redesigns:

“That’s one thing Nike does really well, is you get a chance to kind of really mix it up,” he continued. “But we didn’t feel like that was appropriate to completely change our look and our identity Day 1.

“So you’ll see some subtle changes for this year. But in future years, I think there’s going to be a willingness to maybe do something a little more extreme from uniform to uniform.”
