TOP RACK HOARDING

Specifically, you are accused of placing dishes, bowls, cups, utensils, and miscellaneous kitchen objects almost exclusively upon the upper rack while leaving substantial portions of the lower rack completely vacant.

The Court finds this behavior wildly annoying and completely retarded.

Failure to appear shall result in judgment by default, immediate dishwasher reloading obligations, and possible revocation of your household privileges to announce, “I loaded the dishwasher.”

@Ray_OldG Happy Tuesday, Ray. I saw my son last night and he gave me endless grief about not being caught up on One Piece. I need to watch it this week.

The direction of my thoughts can change the direction of my whole day.

If I wake up discouraged, anxious, or dwelling on something negative, it doesn’t take long for those thoughts to start affecting my attitude, my words, and even the way I respond to people.

That’s why Proverbs 4:23 has become such an important reminder to me: “Guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”

For me, sometimes guarding my heart looks like stopping in the middle of the day and intentionally turning my thoughts back toward God. Prayer. Scripture. Gratitude. Remembering His goodness.

And sometimes I put on swing music.

I love swing music, and there’s something about it that can completely change the atmosphere for me. If my thoughts start getting dark, I’ll put on some upbeat swing and let the music interrupt the spiral. It doesn’t solve everything, but it helps me reset and then I can turn my heart and mind back toward God.

Because ultimately, I don’t want to simply fit God into my day. I want to build my day around Him.

What we continually put into our hearts eventually finds its way out through our words, choices, and actions. So today, I’m choosing to be intentional about what I allow into my inner life and to keep bringing my heart back to the One who made it.

I pray your day is swinging and your heart is filled with the love and peace that only God can provide.

I just submitted a request to the Acronym Finder to add FOML = Fruit Of My Loins to its database.

Me and other moms use this acronym for our children often enough that it warrants a spot in the slang category. I’m eager to see if it’s accepted. 🤞🏼
