What Matt Boyd is doing on the mound for the Cubs this season got him his first All-Star nod.

But what he and his wife Ashley are doing away from baseball really deserves your attention:

@MattPauleyOnAir @KMOXSports My kids are middle/high school age, but it's still a little awkward at times. Over the weekend, my 7th grader said he wants to try FanDuel because "it looks fun." He didn't realize what exactly it was, so we had to explain. Definitely felt some of this strain with the commercials

With Caleb Williams on the field, I’m unbothered by being down 14-0 at this point in the game.

Without him, I’m considering lighting a cigar and going out and enjoying the weather.

@cammillerfilms Thank you!

The White Sox loss last night means my baseball coverage for this season is done.

Easily the most interesting year of Chicago baseball I’ve covered, on both sides of town.

Thanks as always to everyone who read and engaged this season.

Chase Meidroth on wanting to win this series in Chicago:

"When you walk guys, they make you pay."

The White Sox badly need better pitching in order to advance, and for the second night in a row, they didn't get it.

Final: Guardians 9, White Sox 5.

Series finale in Cleveland on Saturday.

Possibly the most Sam Antonacci RBI of all time.

[Jared Wyllys @jwyllys]

That's 3 walks for Miguel Vargas so far tonight.

[Jared Wyllys @jwyllys]

At the midpoint, White Sox trail 3-2.

[Jared Wyllys @jwyllys]

Erick Fedde is back on the mound for the top of the 5th. He's already delivered 3 1/3 scoreless innings for the White Sox tonight.

[Jared Wyllys @jwyllys]

A 154-game season makes a lot of sense, and I can see players going for it.

Start the season slightly later and build in a few more off days.

[Tony Andracki @TonyAndracki23]

The White Sox are here, one win away from the ALCS, in large part because of the leadership of Will Venable.

"He has been my role model."

My latest for @CHGO_Sports:

[Jared Wyllys @jwyllys]

Will Venable has been creative with his pitching staff all postseason, and it's worked. Until Game 3 of the ALDS.

That and 19 strikeouts from the Sox lineup means there will be a Game 4 on Thursday at Rate Field.
