The team just grew up together so they’re obviously going to have mixed feelings about it and I don’t blame them. He was a good teammate to them for the bulk of his time here, and probably still was at times last year.

Here’s the thing with Trady. I don’t doubt that it was a hard decision for him that took a long time to get to. I know he cared about the guys here.

My problem is how obvious it was that his heart wasn’t in it all season when his teammates desperately needed him to step up.

The fact that the Sens had the 3rd best points % in the NHL after the Olympics with a checked out captain and all their injuries is a testament to how incredible this team is, and it’s why I think they will continue to improve post-Trady exit.
