We were honoured to witness a brushing off ceremony conducted by members of the Tsleil-Waututh Nation of The Spirit of Burnaby at City Hall. The carving by Salish artist Gerry Sheena and apprentice Matthew Reid was commissioned and gifted to the City by Burnaby's William McCarthy

The new temporary Fire Station 8 on Burnaby Mountain will greatly enhance the response capability as we await for the permanent home. Thank you to SFU for providing the land and to the Federal Government of Canada for the $30M contribution towards this project.
