When Jo Cox was murdered, the police announced *the day after* they were examining the suspect’s links to the far right and searching his home for extremist right-wing material. It was widely reported, no fear of contempt, prejudicing a trial, or quashing of political commentary.
One of my best friends at school was murdered after being struck repeatedly on the back of the head with a hammer.
I sat in court and listened to the details of his death. I will never forget hearing his mum sob as she learned what her son’s final words had been.
His murderer was sentenced to life in prison for the life he took.
I cannot begin to imagine what it would have felt like if that trial had collapsed because someone prejudiced the case and destroyed any chance of a conviction, simply for the sake of meagre political point-scoring.
I'll never agree with the politics of Ann Widdecombe, but she deserves justice. And that's something you and your party seem hell bent on preventing at all costs.

Democracy only works when people have access to the facts. That's why I'm supporting @ChrisGPackham's petition calling for a UK-wide public briefing on climate and nature risks.

It’s also remarkable how quickly the ‘words aren’t violence’ and ‘hurty feels’ people have turned into the ‘political criticism is demonisation you have blood on your hands’ people.
@Lachlan_Edi Thank you for saying this. I find people treating state school educated people who get into Oxbridge as identitical to privately educated people v annoying.
Remember the glaciers.
Remember the coral reefs.
Remember the rainforests.
Remember the polar bears.
Remember the rhinos.
Remember the sea turtles.
Don’t let your children learn them the way we learned dinosaurs.
The single biggest delusion, false belief, in mainstream politics and economics, is that somehow the climate and ecological emergency, is just another issue, which can be set aside when considering other issues.
Rather the ecological polycrisis will determine everything, economic and societal. There are no issues independent of it. It determines everything that is going to happen in our societies in the near future.
You might not like this, you might have other supposed opinions, but there is only one reality that determines life on Earth, including human life, and that is ecological reality.
Everything else, is denial, delusion and misunderstanding. Being in denial of the climate and ecological poly crisis, is like being in denial that you have a serious illness, which is getting much worse. You can carry on denying it for a while, but reality will eventually catch up with you.
Just like the reality of the climate and ecological emergency is starting to catch up with us. Denial of reality, is a short term, time limited strategy, that always ends in tears.
I genuinely don’t understand the endgame.
If climate change destroys the planet, economies collapse, and the working class disappears, who are billionaires expecting to sell to?
Money only has value because society works. If you destroy the system that creates your wealth… what exactly have you won? 😭
Andrew Tate will face charges of rape, sex trafficking and pornography, including charges related to indecent images of a child.

We can’t survive without bees.
We can’t survive without forests.
We can’t survive without healthy oceans.
We can’t survive without clean rivers.
We can’t survive without fertile soil.
And somehow…
we still act as if humans exist separately from nature.
Tate spiked his victims who woke up to him raping them while unconscious after strangling them so hard their eyeball capillaries burst.
He also targeted teenagers from low income families specifically.
That is what Tommy Robinson’s “Christ is King” gang are defending right now.
‘The Spectator and its broader universe constitute a mostly a low-brow media attempting to dress up racist audience-baiting as high-end journalism, all of which is met not with alarm by high politics and media, but a “cheers” in the sunshine.’ https://t.co/iuecLcnJlG
