Today a delegation of officials from AGRA started a 3-day visit to Mogadishu with main objective to work with the Gov. of Somalia (represented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation- MoAI) on a roadmap for collaboration towards reviving the country's agri-food sector.
Through multiple engagements @MOASomalia and AGRA have identified potential areas of partnership including;
i) Strengthening Somalia's seed system
ii) Enhancing sector coordination mechanisms
iii) Improving ag. data systems
iv) Leadership cultivation on agri-food systems
v) Development of inclusive and food system-centric National Agriculture Investment Plan, as well as Flagship programs.
AGRA is committed to accompany the Gov. Of Somalia in realizing its vision and commitment towards recovery of the then vibrant agri-food sector.
The narrative about Somalia's economic recovery must change.
