Most think writing is creative - it's not.
At least not when it comes to marketing.
When I first started writing, I thought there was some secret to creating incredible ads.
I read Cashvertizing and Breakthrough Advertising and realized I was overcomplicating it.
But after reading those books I still couldn't apply the simple principles I had just learned.
I hadn't developed the skill of simplicity.
So I wrote every single day for 2 years straight.
At a certain point throughout those first few months I unlocked something.
Framework recognition.
I would make sure every 2 - 3 lines had a statement or question that would have the reader either nodding their head
"YES" or "NO".
This helped me cut out fluff.
But it went even deeper.
At some point after the first year, I discovered formulaic ways to write for specific audiences, demographics, desires and awareness levels.
The key, was that they were all Simple, Objective, and Formulaic.
And they all stem back to emotional resonance - or how we logically justify emotional decision making in our heads.
That's when I really started to make progress with my scriptwriting, advertorials, mini-vsls and paid ads.
Stop overcomplicating your writing.
Success WILL NOT come from anything except understanding simple human psychology and emotional fundamentals.

I see poorly edited ads EVERY day.
Most marketers overlook the most basic yet important editing elements.
But not us…
There are 3 rules we ALWAYS follow when editing client ads
(And these rules allow us to make banger after banger):
Want to scale your DTC brand to ridiculous levels?
You need a dream team to make it happen
At my agency, we rely on 4 CRITICAL roles
These key positions enable us to spend $3M/month of our own money PROFITABLY to grow other people’s brands.
Here's what a dream team looks like
@UgcSam I just got charged over $400 for Air this month 😅 going to make the switch back to Google Drive if I can’t find something better. I’ll let you know if I find something else!
Believing you're the luckiest person alive even when things seem "bad". You have a green light at at traffic light? Remind yourself you're lucky. Have a delay in something you want? It was a blessing that saved you from a silly mistake. Everything always works out in your favor
> Creative Editor
Finally you need to have a super creative and efficient editor - for us that's @janeecelambert
She makes sure the Strategist's ideas and Copywriter’s words can be turned into something real.
If your editor falls flat here, then the work of everyone will all be for nothing.
When it comes to scaling a DTC brand on the paid side,
Having the right team in place is essential.
You need a dream team with specific roles.
They need to complement each other and drive results.
Here’s what that team looks like for us:
Creativity isn't about fancy designs or artistic abilities.
It's about achieving any goal with the knowledge and skill available to you.
Everyone is creative, but most people forget they have the power to achieve anything they want in life.
