Trump: "Maybe LeBron is a racist. But maybe he doesn't like Trump. I don't know. I only like people that like me, so I would say Michael Jordan all the way."
In two weeks, Louisiana GOP leaders have:

I grew up a half-hour from Memphis, where the Mississippi Hill Country blues reigned and where R.L. Burnside, Junior Kimbrough, Al Green’s producer Willie Mitchell and the Stax duo Mel & Tim were from. So much diversity in the blues/soul around Memphis.
I wrote this about Memphis. Strictly from the perspective of that city’s contributions to black music. Memphis is a city that has given us so much not only in regards to music but in civil rights and labor rights as well.
I will never be on the side that Memphis deserves less.
NOW: Louisiana Senate Republicans are opposing a bill that would create a $500 fine for leaving a gun unsecured around kids under 13 and a $1,000 fine if the child shoots himself or others with it.
No SCOTUS decision on Louisiana v. Callais (the Louisiana redistricting case with implications for the VRA) today. That means it will likely be at least mid-April before there is a ruling. #lalege#lagov
@bAnthonYsr@BookerGWash The council voted to "rename and dedicate Beauregard Square to its formerly known and currently widely used name of Congo Square in honor of the historical cultural gatherings of enslaved Africans and free people of color in this area under French, Spanish and American rule."
@bAnthonYsr@BookerGWash It was called Congo Square. In 1893, in an act of erasure, the city named it Beauregard Square to honor a Confederate officer. But Black people rightfully called it Congo Square, and 15 years ago, thanks to writer Freddi Williams Evans, the city caught up. https://t.co/wBkbPUELD7
"The Trump administration, dedicated to the proposition that any comprehensive history of the U.S. amounts to godless DEI, has resisted minting coins celebrating the pluribus in our unum — even as it plans a coin celebrating Trump."

Louisiana's Higher Education Reform Task Force (created by the governor to discuss accreditation changes) met today and didn't send out a meeting notice to members of the public/media who requested them, as required by the open meetings law #lalege#lagov
Three people familiar with the matter tell @MSNBC that the top two criminal prosecutors in the Norfolk office of the Eastern District of Virginia have been fired after expressing skepticism about the case against the New York Attorney General. With @lawofruby
If you weren't there in '95 when "Brown Sugar" landed like an earth-shattering meteor, it's hard to make you understand D'Angelo's impact. He was old school and innovative, a student the greats but seemingly fully formed and wise. Listen to this genius. https://t.co/DkL1OZ8Wju
“We have regressed as a country, and today’s ‘Reading Rainbow’ reboot comes at a time when censorship is ascendant and books are under attack.” My column at @MSNBC
