One of the most important elections in American history is drawing near & I am not able to vote in it because I am considered "incompetent" because of my autism. It really hurts a lot--but I hope to vote next time, hence my sticker. #autismrights
I know I’m @JasonJacobyLee ‘s mom but the fact that he learned how to communicate in his 20s after our decades of silence is also an amazing part of the story - now we can hear from a” low functioning “ autistic what this feels like
The beach is supposed to be fun and relaxing. But for Jason Jacoby Lee (@JasonJacobyLee), who is autistic, free-roaming dogs make it excruciating. https://t.co/tFqTS2oxsR
It's much easier for nondisabled people do accommodate disabled people than it is for disabled people to simply adapt to the lack of accommodations.

@JasonJacobyLee makes the case for why leash laws double as a disability rights issue: "They let disabled people like myself gain access to some of the few public spaces available. This is especially true in summer, when we all want to enjoy the outdoors." https://t.co/tFqTS2oxsR
A brilliant essay on the trouble with dogs being off leash.
I love dogs but am bewildered by some owners behaviour with off b leash dogs
My wife is similarly terrified
PLEASE read. Especially if you own a dog for an important perspective

Thank you for speaking up and speaking out, Jason. Things can’t change until there’s a tipping point of awareness. Keep fighting (& writing) the good fight and one day you will make the change—and be the change—you want to see in the world. ✌🏽
Exceptional article. Thank you both for pulling back the curtain on non speaking autism. With Jason’s contribution, maybe Hollywood can create better movies. @MarkHamill
I have non speaking #autism but I am not stupid--despite what the doctors told my parents.
Here is my first essay ever on why leash laws are a #disabilityrights issue

As someone who is also of mixed ancestry, I have my own thoughts about what VP Harris' racial categorization tells us about where we are as a nation (a thread) 1/

I like to imagine a future in which race is not such a prominent part of how society is structured. When this happens, no one will worry about Kamala Harris’ race. Instead, they will focus on her political positions, which is what an election is supposed to be about, after all.
