Taehyung answers GQ about the sonic direction of his music and how working on Arirang gave him new ideas!
‘In an attempt to understand where the guys are at, sonically, I ask them what they’re currently obsessed with. V shares that one of the group’s collaborators introduced them to the music of the experimental rapper Jean Dawson. “It just impacted me so much because it flew in a totally different way than I thought it would,” V says. “It gave me a lot of ideas on how music could flow and what kind of direction it could head towards.”’ - GQ
TAEHYUNG FOR GQ
Jean Dawson announced his new project ‘Rock A Bye Baby, Glimmer Of God,’ set for release November 14. The deluxe project expands on his 2024 album ‘Glimmer of God’ with new material—including the lead single "White Lighter," out now.
In a recent interview with Hypebeast, Jean explains, “['Glimmer Of God'] is my ode to truth. And my truth was realizing that I’d been mean to myself for a long time, and that project is me letting that go and starting to be kind and sweet to myself. The deluxe version, 'Rockabye Baby, Glimmer of God,' is the end of the story. It’s different, but it’s informed by everything I’ve done.”
