I have distanced myself from family members and close friends in the past when they failed to stand by me or defend me during my own experiences of abuse. My values and sense of integrity are not something I am willing to compromise.

If anyone believes that my loyalty to a football club outweighs those principles, they are mistaken.

@swspurs For me, it’s concerning when those comments aren’t fully taken into consideration, because I don’t think they should be dismissed lightly.

People can make their own choices, but I personally find it neglectful not to reflect on that properly given the seriousness of it.

It’s perfectly reasonable for a woman (or anyone else) to be unhappy about their club hiring someone who went above and beyond to launder the reputation of a man credibly accused of domestic & sexual abuse, and if you think that’s ‘woke’ your brain has been rotted by the internet
