Also, it just so happens that we published a blog on how to understand Gamut Rings this week.
Great timing and good excuse to dive into Gamut Rings if you haven't taken a look at the metric yet :)

You may have seen the news that @rtingsdotcom added Gamut Rings to their TV test v2.0 methodology earlier this week. It's a powerful way to understand display color volume and awesome to see it being broadly adopted!
It's hard to believe #DisplayWeek is just over one week away! There's so much great Quantum Dot programming this year that we thought it would be helpful to put together a list of our favorite QD events so you don't miss anything: https://t.co/5wZULSFFih
We’ve been talking about color ghosting and slow phosphors in LCDs for a few years. This new test pattern clearly illustrates the issue and I’m excited for folks to get to test it out for themselves!
@Caleb_Denison the latest Nit Nerds merch has me feeling seen… trying to keep it reasonable with just a T shirt and mug but that hoodie is calling me too! 🤓
Back in April, we said 2023 would be "The Year of the Quantum Dot." After this week's King of TV and Nobel Prize news, you may be left wondering just what we knew and when...

@NanosysInc@NFLonPrime We took a look at the “color gamut” of the jerseys in the HDR presentation of tonight’s TNF game. Kind of a throwback to a series of posts we did back in 2012 on sports and color. Interested to see if any team colors are “out-of-gamut" on TNF this year!

Big news in the world of Quantum Dots today! Shoei Chemical has acquired Nanosys' Quantum Dot business. We're excited to join the Shoei Chemical family, read the full PR here:

The #DisplayWeek 2023 episode is finally up! This one took a little longer to finish with more guests, more cameras, more mics, more everything… but I think we mostly pulled it off :) Also my first time making an appearance on the other side of the camera:
In case you missed Display Week 2023, check out some of the hottest display technologies from the show floor with Brian Berkeley on the latest episode of The Display Show!

Had a chance to see this thing in action yesterday and it was truly amazing. Can’t wait to see what folks create on these monster quantum dot displays!!
Introducing the XMP550 UHD Resolution HDR and SDR Reference Mastering Monitor. Utilizing a next-gen QD-OLED panel with 2,000nit peak luminance, 2,000,000:1 contrast, and our widest color gamut to date, it truly is OLED without Compromise.

SID #DisplayWeek is less than a month away! Looking forward to reconnecting with old friends and colleagues at what has become my favorite event of the year. I recently connected with OLED-info to share some of the great new additions to this year's program:
Jeff Yurek, VP of Marketing at Nanosys, and the Vice Chair of Marketing for the Society for Information Display tell us what to expect at SID Displayweek next month!

@Scobleizer And, BTW, there can be a whole universe of dumb display products like ski goggles, bike helmets, windshields & big screen TVs that are part of ecosystem.
Let the AI figure out context and share with you via best channel whether it’s on your hand or AirPods or any of these devices
@Scobleizer Interesting and I thought you’d be a fan. This is so much more contextually relevant.
I think projection is the way to go for AR. Glasses are jut not going to scale beyond enterprise apps. As a glasses wearer, nobody wants to wear glasses.
@BenGeskin@Humane@ZarifAli9@imranchaudhri@bella_bongiorno Love this demo. Projection is 💯 the right display tech for AR.
Glasses will not scale outside of enterprise. Nobody wants to wear glasses & HUD can be served by other devices (windshields, helmets, ski goggles, &c).
Let the AI sort out the context & serve data to best display.
We had @TechWriterGeoff visit Nanosys HQs to see where our quantum dots are made. Get an inside look in CNET's latest article 👇

Paul Gray joins us on @TheDisplayShow podcast this week. He has such a great way of distilling complex topics into memorable 1-liners. Great reminder in the episode for display hardware & specs nerds like me that "people watch content, not displays." https://t.co/c2phUEFjuY
