Chair of The Torch Founder & Chairman of Beyond Blue 2000-2017, Premier of Victoria 1992-99, President of Hawthorn Football Club 2005-11, 2017-22 Keen gardener
The Prime Minister and Labor have no moral authority to be attacking One Nation and Pauline Hanson when they dine with Daniel Andrews with Felix Lee.
That is a recipe for disaster.
Australians beware
Very sad to read of Tony Walkers passing.
The former head of Ambulance Victoria, was a very committed, compassionate and decent human being.
I thank him for his service and extend my condolences to his family friends and colleagues in Ambulance Vic
The removal of the rebate for private health insurance for people over 65, is grossly unfair.
The rebate should have been means tested.
Many seniors are low income or on pensions.
Their health insurance is often their biggest expense which they struggle to keep.
Unfair.
Persistence is everything in life.
Carlton demonstrated that tonight.
They played well agsinst last years Premiers.
The coach and players deserve the respect and support of every fair minded football supporter!
No social justice in removing the higher rebates for private health insurance just because people are aged 65 and 70
Means test the rebates.
Remove it from those who can afford it
Remove it from all is simply cruel, and will add to mental health stress.
Have a heart Labour
What a disgrace.
A total disgrace of Australias new priorities.
We allow the ISIS Brides to return.
While we pursue Ben Roberts-Smith through the courts.
What does Australia stand for in 2026?
Medical officer on their Board.
In the inerests of all staff not just footballers.
Psychologists too restrictive.
Get a qualified medico.
But AFL should do as they say and appoint one to the Commission
AFL again proves that its Commission and administration not fit for purpose.
Rule changes during the season, umpires left without support, now each Club to appoint Psychologist after Holland incident
For years i have argued every Club and AFL Commission should have an experienced
who had never served. Never put their lives at risk.
I am profoundly sadden by what has occured today.
The findings are on record
The potential damage to our armed forces, to our ability to defend those we send to battles beyond our shores.
I congratulate Nick MacKenzie
On his work re the military service of Ben Roberts Smith
The findings to date of BRS's service was described as "based on all probability" he was guilty of crimes while on service in Afganistan.
Afganistan was a war zone into which Australian
politicians committed young Australians.
Their lives at risk.
The Vietnam war taught us to trust noone, even those working with Aus troops.
Why would any young Australian join the military forces, if years after their engagement, they were going to be judged by those
@Metal137 Sadly you are correct.
And all these businesses are family businesses.
Often Mother and Father and their children working to make a go of it!
Free public transport for April a good move given petrol shortage and cost.
But it hopefully will be used to encourage people to go to work, eat out and to shop.
Otherwise there will be massive layoffs in the next few weeks that will help noone!
So eat, work, shop and have fun.
Good decision by the AFL re the time of the Grand Final.
Yes a football game, but very much a family day.
People, particularly our children and their enjoyment of the game more important than cash to broardcasters.
@Butterscribe If all elected to stay at home, even for the month of April, it would be like a tsunami sweeping through small shop keepers, coffee shops etc.
We all have to try and keep our economy and businesses alive
@notcherylkernot No i agree very tough for an increasing number.
Even if the straight was opened tomorrow, the impact will have a long and costly tail unfortunately.
That is why in part those who can use free public transport should go to work to support businesses that rely on people traffic.
@bombermurray11@Twinkocalypse Not only did the sports clubs get new facilities, but we reconditioned the park lands in the whole area, and totally cleaned the lake.
And there is more..
We attracted the F1 to Victoria attracting financial and reputational value to the State.
Tell the truth and gat a life!
@lyttle_deb9361 Deb
I do not know where you get 350 schools closed.
A third of all State schools!
The only schools we closed were those had been physically negleted by Labor, or where studets were in so low numbers their total education was not to the standards required.
@heidimur Heidi,
Sometimes governments must be flexible to the circumstances.
We need people tp eat, shop and work over the next few weeks otherwise there will be massive layoffs in restaurants and retail businesses
