@DetailMyLife@laurlin24 Nope. No one plays soccer, there’s no American football camps, no swim camps, no track camps, no marching band camps. No one is outside recreationally at all. No one trains for marathons or triathlons. We spend 6 months of the year indoors in our AC.
@G748494John@facetedcarapace Just 2 weeks ago the British were on here saying how Americans don’t know heat and how much hotter it was in the UK during a short heat wave. Now their football team is saying the US is too hot.
Which is it?
@Uz_0_85@RealShahriqKhan All of the first born in Egypt were killed that night, including Pharaoh’s own son, EXCEPT for the firstborns in the houses marked by the lamb’s blood. That’s why Pharaoh let the Israelites go, he saw God’s power in his own house. Pharaoh’s house should have been untouchable.
@nasscrave Darling, my earliest English ancestor (Vane family from County Durham) to come to America, in the 1600s in North Carolina, married a Cherokee woman. My European ancestry has been mixed since the beginning.
@BillWiIdin We don’t have high speed passenger rail because our priority is freight.
It take 43+ hours to travel by rail from New York City to San Francisco. Why go by train when the flight is cheaper and only takes 6 hours?
@carausius286@ellieAPI@GambelerQuail And the UK is all Greggs and Costa Coffee. Guess what else? I also saw McDonalds and Starbucks in Edinburgh, Glasgow, & London. TJMaxx-TKMaxx are same store. US = UK. No difference. Guess you guys aren’t as culturally diverse from us as you think.
@MarawainBlue@GambelerQuail Chicago-broadly European in culture, mix of Italian, German, English, French, Spanish.
Wyoming-broadly Native American in culture with early Spanish influence, followed by other Europeans.
Either the US is diverse or Europe is a monolithic culture. Both can’t be true.
@RefinedPopulist There WAS a lady that was killed a couple days ago in a dog convenience store shooting. I wouldn’t put it past the tornadoes to do that to schools.
@davidquinn29999@mattbramanti Watch this video about the Joplin Missouri tornado, one that MOVED A HOSPITAL. Then reevaluate your statement.

@davidquinn29999@mattbramanti How large is tornado alley, in your estimation? (Hint, larger than your entire country).
Now, tell me how powerful tornadoes are in that area of the country. How high are the wind speeds? How fast do they move? How long are the tracts of these tornadoes?
@ndbain@SashaxChipz@salingergregor I’m also in Arizona. Construction workers, especially certified commercial construction workers, can make $100k+ easily. And they truely are out in the heat of 46-49C for up to 12 hrs a day. Our children play sports in that heat all summer too.
@ArsenUrbanism@suchnerve Not really. Does every region in England (for example) have its own laws? Speed limits? Like is the speed limit in Essex different from the speed limit in Suffolk just because you crossed the county line?
@Chodbin35@TheUnaButters There are no “adequate building materials” for 150mph circular winds moving at up to 70mph in a northeasterly direction. These winds send 2X4 wood planks THROUGH 6 inches of concrete.
@tuuu28283 I’ve never looked at a horse and thought “dinner.” I have looked at cows and pigs and thought of them as food items, hamburger, bacon, steak.
I didn’t think of snails as food until I had escargot in France. So it’s probably cultural.
