I’m a barrister. My first jury trial of 2026 is not taking place on Monday because of a lack of court. Yet more than 30 courts locally sit unused on Monday due to funding cuts. This is what caused the backlog – not jury trials.

💧Latest South East Water update 💧

1) The compensation to business offered by South East Water is insulting and in no way matches businesses’ losses.

2) By his own admission, CEO Dave Hinton spent the crisis in the water lab rather than leading the organisation through the crisis. This failure of leadership made the losses to business so much worse.

3) He must resign for a failure to learn the lessons of the similar 2022 water outage in Tunbridge Wells.
