Can I bet on who the next gov is made out of? Cause I think it'll be FF+FG+II. I don't want to be right, but if I'm right and depressed I might as well get paid.
I usually give PBP a high pref but this has genuinely put me off the candidate. It's a dumb enough thing to do if you're trying to position yourself as knowledgeable and trustworthy, but to then pay to promote it to your constituency? Come on
I got a promoted insta post the other day paid for by my local PBP candidate that showed a screenshot of them retweeting someone who made an unproven allegation against FG with essentially "horrifying if true! we need to stop them"

I'm on Schreiers' third book and it's hitting a great pace. Just as I start wondering if this Andy Weir at Bllizzard is THE Andy Weir - Confirmed! This morning I hit the end of a chapter thinking "When do we get to THAT guy?" and the next chapter starts on Bobby Kotick.
I'm listening to Blood Sweat and Pixels at the moment, and, while explaining development, he says the worst bug is categorised as a P1. Let's take a moment for those poor traumatised engineers he interviewed who couldn't bring themselves to even speak of P0s.
It's a grand read and would be very informative for people outside game dev. The only thing I've actually learned so far is that I've somehow conflated Destiny and Journey in my mind which made the chapter on Destiny really confusing.
I've been playing a lot of Astro Bot lately and I can't help but be so grateful that I'm past my teenage "too serious for cute games" phase. It is both immaculately designed and painfully adorable and I think this might be the best combination.
Steve Ewart from the Field Application Engineering team at Havok recently gave a talk on The Evolution of Physics Within Games at Develop:Brighton24. Watch it here: https://t.co/KuruMQhXSX
@MegaSlippers same really, but I tried bluesky and it's largely silent. Tried Threads and it's terrible. Tried mastodon (ages ago tbf) and it was weirdly fragmented. So I'm a little lost on how to keep in touch with people.
Insta is great but it's a very different kinda thing yknow?
@iamSMoloney I managed to give up the old (and oh so terrible) ways, but everyone is so fragmented on other sites I just stopped using anything. I was at an event yesterday and realised the only way I could stay in touch with people was LinkedIn and that wasn't a good realisation
