1/ Louise Casey will bring forward her independent review into social care options by a year - it will now be published summer 2027: "If we have that independent review then I think we can rise to this challenge with the urgency it requires."

2/ ministers will immediately focus on social care workforce - fair pay agreement for staff will be "a massive building block" towards wider reforms to "lift up" workforce, bringing it closer to NHS standards & creating progress routes.

3/ wants cross party talks on plans: "Yes, I have been here before and yes, I do have some of the scars of that but it’s the right thing to do." PM says all sides have to "give and take" if a solution is to be found. "We're all going to have to listen to each other - something we don't do particularly well in politics. We're going to have to find common ground here."
